My 'working' days are behind me so 'easy for me to say', huh? I get it. I had to do a lot of tweaking during my 30 years of work, believe me, but I was so fortunate. I got to change things around, do it differently, create, change venues, try to inspire others, problem solve, work here, then there, with this wonderful person and then that one. I am, and was, so blessed.
My new 'work' is not really work at all but it makes me excited, calls me to set goals, gives me a way to grow and imagine all that I, and my life, can still be. As an artist, I get to create. Doesn't matter what. Maybe a new bookmark out of an old receipt, or a collage out of a funeral home fan destined for the trash. Or, hold on, a new painting. I just started a new one last night and I love it. It has a story, it's colorful, it's a place I've been, it is a vanishing part (some would hope) of the American landscape. I'll share it when I'm done.
Next week, we travel. I will be blogging every day right here. If you don't like travel blogs, come back in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, I promise gorgeous photos and great stories every day. So, next time you hear from me will not be from Georgia! Nope, I'll be in Oregon Country. I've never been. Can't wait!
