Onion Soup

So glad I finally finished this painting.  I mean you really wouldn't believe how long it took me! This is an exercise in my art class that focuses on contrast.  It's also about color...which I love, but primarily it uses contrast as the main tool.   The painting subject matter reminds me of the quote by Carl Sandburg:

"Life is like on onion.  You peel one layer at a time and sometimes you cry."

Oils  11 x 14

Here is a tasty recipe for Onion Soup for those who are getting hungry.  You might enjoy it a lot better than the painting!  No crying allowed though...

  1. Wow this is beautiful, I am sure you will get an excellent mark on that. I really love it. The soup would make a great painting too:) Hug B

    1. To most the soup is probably more satisfying than the painting. I love both! Thanks Buttons.
