So Far, So Good

Breakfast:   Oatmeal with cinnamon and blueberries + coffee

Lunch:     Salmon and baby lima beans + tea

Snack 1:    Orange and grapes

Snack 2:     Weight Watcher sweet and green tea

It's almost 4:30.    So far, so good.

This is my typical start to my daily eating pattern.  A wonderful breakfast such as this followed by a tasty and healthy lunch.  This is no struggle at all.  I am not tempted to have a burger and fries or ice cream.  Around 6:00 PM I'll have a healthy dinner too.

Then all hell breaks loose things begin to fall apart.  I can't understand it so I don't know how I'll explain it.  It's just that my "bad self" wakes up around 8:00 PM and is ready for action.  Snack action!  The snacking gets away from me.  There is no such thing as two cookies or 1/2 cup of ice cream.  Not possible for me to eat 12 almonds like the experts recommend.  No!  I am more likely to have a Diet Coke with two handfuls of nuts, ten cookies,  too many crackers,  way too many grapes. 

If anybody has any insight on my dilemma, I'd love you to share. Does this happen to you too?  Anybody have a solution that works?


  1. I think your body is craving carbs... I have the same problem, but I am not able to have sugary items... I eat a rice cake with alomond butter and carob chips and call it a cookie.

    I have the same problem though.... I want more and more carbs... I could eat them until I am sick. That is probably what got me into the situation I am in to begin with.

  2. I feel like snacking in the nights too. Lately I've been having a cup of green tea, along with a 42 calorie piece of dark chocolate. Then I go to bed and read for a while. It doesn't always work, but it helps.

  3. I am soo bad also! I usually when I am in the snacking mood fix the healthy snack even though I do not really want it, eat that and usually I am okay, also, try drinking a cup of water, sometimes I am more thirsty than hungry! :)

  4. I have the same habit just like you
    but I'm not that easily gain weight.
    Anything i eat i still in shape..
    I want to gain weight but it's still the same.. this is my big problem. :)
